What Does It Mean To Be A Friend of the Foundation?

Our Friends of the Foundation are those amazing individuals and organizations who, through their support, have allowed us to continue to serve our Charitable Mission here in the Baton Rouge Community for going on almost 50 years now.  Our purpose here at the Foundation is to develop the capacity to communicate at one's optimum level.  Communication is a fundamental factor determining one's ability to establish independence, build a productive career, nurture positive personal relationships, strengthen communities and effectively participate in a free society.  When you invest in the BRSHF, you are increasing the capacity of children and adults with speech, language or hearing impairments to become all that they can be.  We invite you to become a Friend of the Foundation today – no donation is too great or too small.  We welcome all Friends.  Contact us by phone (225-343-4232) or email (info@brshf.org) about any of the following opportunities to participate:

Each year we conduct an Annual Campaign in the fall. Click Here to see this year’s letter.  Not on our mailing list?  No problem!  Just send us your name and mailing address to aleblanc@brshf.org and we will make sure you get added!

Donate Items from Our Wish List.

We use a lot of of Crayons, Play-Doh, paper towels and freezer pops here at the Foundation!  Twice a year, we create a Wish List of those basic supplies that help us do the amazing things we do.  We invite you to visit and donate items from our Wish List. 

Explore Our Planned Giving Opportunities.

We have an increasing number of Friends of the Foundation who have chosen to include BRSHF in their Planned Giving.  Planned Giving is a set of philanthropic tools that can advance your own financial objectives while BRSHF’s too.  Contact our Executive Director, Melissa Juneau, for more information about gift options that will create tax savings for you, while assisting BRSHF in continuing to carry out our mission.

Sponsor/Participate in the Annual Volunteer Activist Luncheon

For 37 years, The Foundation has honored scores of men and women whose competent, energetic and selfless leadership has strengthened the arenas of education, health, social, civic and faith-based service in the community.  By becoming a VA sponsor, you recognize these remarkable Volunteer Activists and invest in BRSHF, which is the beneficiary of this annual event.
